December 2018 Mission Africa Prayer Letter

“But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of
Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler,
Who will shepherd my people Israel.”
Matthew 2:6 NKJV

Blessed Christmas 2018 greetings to you, friends! It’s our custom to share this traditional version of a Christmas Letter from Uganda with you. It’s our sincere hope and prayer that God will bless you and yours in His Ruler, Jesus, the Savior of the world, who has come to save His people!

We thank you for your prayers and gifts that have blessed our African friends and us in 2018!

Children (like the kids pictured here who were blessed in last year’s Christmas Outreaches) will receive the benefits of your prayers and gifts as they hear the Gospel and enjoy a fun day this Christmas including a good meal, a gift and hope. We wish you and yours a blessed and wonderful Christmas! And we rejoice with you that our Savior rules in us as we trust Him with all our heart for salvation. Love and thanks to you all in our King and Lord Jesus Christ! Jim and Kappy

“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus,
for He will save His people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21 NKJV

Christmas Outreach 2018: Friends, again this year we hope to bring the Gospel, a meal, a time of sharing and a gift to children. Please pray for much good to come to the peoples through Christmas Outreach 2018! May our Lord Jesus wondrously bless you and yours this Christmas!

““Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.””
             Matthew 1:23 NKJV

Friends: Your prayers and gifts are so important and needed in our labor of love! Thank you sincerely for your generosity to Mission Africa. Here are ways that your gifts can be used to reach the poor:

$5 will provide an English Bible

$9 will provide necessary study materials for a Ugandan pastor

$12 will provide a Bible in the Luganda language or in another mother tongue

$50 will provide training for pastors and church planters

$120 will feed and provide care for 30 street kids for a month

$500 will enable us to serve hundreds of slum children in evangelism and Christmas Outreaches

Your gifts will enable us to continue to serve the Gospel and give compassionate care to Africans in our areas of ministry which include: Street Kid Outreach, Children’s Ministry, Prison and HIV+ Ministry, Pastoral Leadership Development, Teaching/Preaching, Radio Ministry, and Church Planting. As God leads you, please reply with your gift and indicate your preference of how you want your gift to be used.  Also, please tell us how we can pray for you. We rejoice that we can serve the Lord together as we care for the poor!

Taxes!  Each year many folks are looking to give end-of-year gifts as a possible way to help reduce their tax liability.  If you are one of those folks, here are some things to keep in mind!  Contributions mailed to CTEN must be postmarked no later than December 31st.  Online credit card donations must be posted through the CTEN website no later than December 31st.  CTEN is also able to receive contributions of stocks, bonds and mutual funds, which are then sold and the proceeds provided to the missionaries. Remember that any year-end gifts of stocks, bonds or mutual funds must be received in CTEN’s brokerage account by December 31st.  Call 800-872-5404 for more information.
